Ouch!

Will got his first big bump on Sunday. Cory was leaving church and Will was in the car seat and decided to sit up and get out of the car seat. Cory was opening the door to his truck and noticed the weight change in the car seat and tried to lower it down but Will ended up on the asphalt. Cory thinks he landed on his belly and just scraped his head on the asphalt. Good thing he has a little padding on his belly. Cory felt awful but after 10 minutes Will was back to normal babbling away and smiling. His head didn't have a bump or a bruise, just a scrape.

Braden's first soccer game

Saturday was Braden's first soccer game and it was dramatic to say the least! He has only had one practice because of the weather so I didn't know what to expect. He started as goalie, which I was worried about because we had been telling him-you can't use your hands in soccer. Well that didn't turn out to be the problem. Right off the bat the other team comes down and scores and Braden starts crying! Didn't see that coming. I got him to go back into the game but the other team comes down and scores again, which brought another set of tears! His coach then took him out of goalie. His team had the kickoff and in a few minutes, Braden goes down and scores! You would think he would be happy now. Nope. More tears! He came running off the field crying! The other coach was behind his goalie yelling like crazy (yeah they're 5) and I think he scared Braden. Well the rest of the game was about the same. He would go out and play for 5 minutes and then run off the field. I think he got really tired. We are lucky to have a good coach who just laughed and sent another kid out to play.
There were a couple times he would break away, dribble the ball down right in front of the goalie and stop. The goalie would walk out and pick it up! He said he didn't hear the sideline yelling to shoot it. I love this age of soccer players. One little girl went the wrong way until half time and they changed sides on the field! It's pretty cute to watch.

This is his friend Davis. They scored the two goals for our team. When Braden played he did really good and we are proud of him for going back on the field. I think he now knows what to expect and hopefully next game will go smoother. He had a surprisingly good time and is excited to go play next week.

Happy Keester!

We had a good Easter. The Easter bunny came and brought Will a new swimsuit and swim shirt and Braden new Transformer PJs. He hid eggs all over our house and Braden did a great job finding them.

We had a good morning and then we went to church. Cory brought Will home from church for a nap (did I mention the Masters was on) because our church doesn't start until 1:30. Not a good time for an 8 month old. After church we went to Grandma and Grandpa Gleed's house for a yummy dinner of ham and potato casserole. They did another egg hunt and the kids had a really fun time.

Hunting for Eggs

Every year Grandma Donna does a big Easter eggs hunt at her house. It starts with a delicious breakfast, followed by dying Easter eggs, and then the hunt. All the kids get a number to look for on the eggs. This helps with the oldest grandkid being 11 and the youngest 4 weeks old.

Braden found all his eggs and ended up with a lot of candy and 6 quarters. I think the money in the eggs was a hit.

Will just loved being outside.

Happy Early Easter!

We have been celebrating Easter all week. My parents went to visit Dan and Danika over Easter so Braden got to have a sleepover last Saturday night. He wrote a letter to the Easter bunny so he would know to hide eggs at Grandma's a week early. The Easter bunny got the letter (even though it didn't get 'mailed' until Saturday at about 4pm) and hid all the eggs Braden dyed, plus brought a lot of fun toys. Grandma and Grandpa were suppose to take pictures and didn't so the only picture we have is Braden hitting golf balls off the back of their house.

Cabin Fever

I guess this is what happens when three little boys get stuck indoors for too long. I heard them laughing in Braden's room and this is how they came out. They thought they were hilarious. Pants on their heads, shirts for pants. So funny.

We are trying to come up with some indoor activities since the weather has been so bad. Last week we had our friend Calvin over so we decided to make some Easter eggs. They were the easy ones that you melt the plastic to the eggs with a blow dryer. We'll save the dying of eggs for Grandma's! Will is content to play in the Easter grass or with a balloon.
