I made it myself

Before this story is told, please note: I was at work, Cory was in charge.

The other day Braden went downstairs to tell Cory he made himself lunch. Cory asked him what he made and it turns out, it was quite the lunch. After A LOT of questions we have come to the conclusion that he got into our fridge and found some fried rice I made for dinner about a week ago. So he put it in the microwave and pushed "4".

Well the "4" means 4 minutes, so I asked him if he let it go the whole way to which he replied, "No, just til the lid popped off!" Apparently he couldn't get the lid off before so why not cook it with the lid on.

But of course he said it was too hot to eat, so he decided to pour water in the rice to cool it off. Now that's thinking!

Turns out he ate the whole thing. Rice, water and all. Which makes me think, he will eat crunchy, old, over cooked, watered down rice, but not half the dinners I cook. I guess I just need to wait a week and let him prepare it. Apparently that works!!

I love that story...I can slave all evening on what i think is a devine dinner and my kids will refuse to eat it. Then an hour later they want chicken nuggets or crackers and milk something that takes no effort at all. Sometimes I just throw my head back and cry "Why do I cook?" I will have to tell them to fend for themselves maybe my food will tastes better that way.
