Charlie Cory Alder
Charlie was born on July 9, 2010. We weighed 5"15 and was 19 1/2 inches long. He wasn't due until July 20, but I had a doctors appointment and I knew if my blood pressure was high enough my doctor would start me. At this point, I was really hoping it was high enough and I wouldn't have to wait through another weekend. When they took my BP is was 150/101 which is the worst it had ever been. (Maybe the squats beforehand had something to do with it!) Needless to say, my doctor sent my straight up to get me started and 7 hours later Charlie was born. He was a little small, but healthy.
Braden holding his new brother for the first time.
My three boys. Will didn't quite know what to think. He was just happy to be staying at grandma and grandpa's house.
I'm not sure why, but when I had Will and Charlie, Braden became quite the photographer. I found a lot of interesting pictures on the camera. Apparently he likes close-ups!
I got out of the shower and Braden was snapping away. I think there are over 20 pictures just like this. Poor Charlie had the flash going off every 5 seconds.

Broken Leg
What does every nine month pregnant mother need? A 28 pound 22 month old with a non waterproof, unable to walk broken leg! A week before I had Charlie, Will fell off the neighbors slide and broke his leg. I didn't realize the impact it would have on us until I heard 'the cast can't be waterproof', 'it has to go from his thigh to his toes', and 'he shouldn't walk in it.' This is what we came home with-
Two days later, we went back to the Orthopedic Surgeon and got a cast. It was nice because his leg was protected, but it was really hard for him to get around. He figured it out pretty quickly.
Two weeks after the cast we went back for x-rays and they were able to put Will in a walking boot. This was sooooo much better. I could take it off for baths and it fit him below the knee. (Although the smell was unbearable when you took it off!)
Throughout the whole ordeal, Will did awesome. He never complained. He just went about his business. My mother in law said it the best-Don't tell him he has a broken leg, I don't think he knows!

What a deal!
Baby Animal Days
Today we decided we would take the kids out to see all the baby animals at the American West Heritage Center. They do their big Baby Animal Days over Easter, but then they have a smaller, less crowded version the next week. We got to go on train rides, ride ponies, and pet and hold a lot of cute little baby animals. Braden was told you could win frogs there and I was pleasantly surprised that they were gone. I think the biggest hit was the train ride, even for Braden who was too cool to say he liked it, but smiled the whole way!

Easter Time
We did two Easter's this year, but unfortunately I only took picture at one of them. My parents were going out of town over Easter, so my mom made a delicious dinner, had an Easter egg hunt, and dyed eggs on the Sunday before. The weather actually was better that week than the week of Easter, so we were able to do the hunt outside. The next Saturday, Cory's mom made everyone a brunch, then we played some games, dyed eggs, and did another hunt. Braden loves looking for his eggs, Will not so much this year.
We also made an egg container to drop out of Grandma and Grandpa's window and it worked. Braden's egg didn't break. But then Grandma gave put the boys on a team and the girls on a team and they had 15 minutes to make a new container and they both worked too. I think we spent a little too long on Braden's considering a 10 year old, 8 year old, and 6 year old did it in 15 minutes!
It was nice to just stay home on the actual Easter day and relax.
Once again, It's a Boy!
For those of you that don't know, we found out that baby number 3 is a boy! It was a little hard to take at first, knowing this is our last baby, but now we are really excited. Braden is really excited to have another brother and I think Will will love having a little buddy. Our family is definitely boy oriented and now I don't have to worry about figuring out how to do cute girl hair. (I just get to listen to boy noises!)

This and That
I finally uploaded my pictures and thought that I would post some of them. Some are from Braden's birthday, some are from last week but this is what we have been up to lately.
William loves to stack and climb as you can see from the pictures. He also loves to "organize" my kitchen. If my measuring cups and mixer are not in the middle of the floor, he has work to do!
This is a typical day after school. If Braden doesn't get to play, I think the world might end. There are so many boys his age in our neighborhood and they have so much fun together. Of course Will thinks he is one of the boys too.
Braden and his friends love to play football and I love to watch their imaginations. Braden created an offense/defense setup with his stuffed animals. It was dogs against all the other animals. And of course Braden was the quarterback.
And once again Will tries to be like his brother! That's actually Braden's jersey, but I think it fits Will better!

Baby #3
Since absolutely nothing is going on in the month of January except freezing temperatures and inversions, I will blog about the new addition to our family. I am due July 26th when I'm sure I'll be wishing for some relief from the scorching heat! You just can't win! I'm currently 13 weeks, still throwing up, and should I really be needing maternity clothes yet??? The baby is as big as a lime, not a cantaloupe, so why do my clothes no longer fit? Still I refuse for at least a couple more weeks! I have had two ultrasounds (neither of which is the picture above-it's just too easy to pull one off the internet-and you get the point)and everything looks good. I have come to the conclusion that I do not get to pick when I have kids, so if you are wondering why Braden and Will are 5 years apart and Will and baby #3 are less than two years apart, don't ask me, I don't know either! I guess it was meant to be. We are really excited about the surprise especially since we didn't have to do any infertility treatments-this is what normal people feel like I guess!!
Braden and Cory are excited to have another baby, Will has no idea, and I'm glad this is the last time I'm pregnant!
We are all excited for the addition and I'll keep you updated on if it's a boy or girl when the time comes!

New Year's Resolution!
So this year for my New Year's Resolution I am really going to try to keep my blog up to date. So I will start with sledding on New Year's Day. We went to Old Main Hill and went sledding for a while. We went with Dan and family, my mom and Jenni. Will didn't quite understand the sledding, but he likes being outside-even if he couldn't move!
Braden had a great time and loves sledding especially with his dad.
Although it took an hour to get ready and we only sledded for a 1/2 hour, I think everybody had a good time and it was worth the work.
